Jobs and Growth
As unemployment rates remain high throughout much of Southern Illinois, Jeremy’s top priority is putting people back to work. He will invest in permanent job creation tools such as providing incentives for small businesses to hire new employees and creating training programs so businesses have a skilled workforce and their employees have good wages.
Jeremy’s plan also includes investing in technologies - like clean coal - that will create the jobs of the future now. He will work to make Illinois a more “business friendly” environment to encourage companies to locate in our region.
Jeremy also believes we need to bring new technology to Illinois by expanding the state’s Technology Development Account program. This program has already helped create thousands of jobs and stimulate the economy. Jeremy would push to see the program expanded to invest in clean coal technologies – revitalizing the struggling coal industry in Southern Illinois.
