State Senate Candidate Walker Kicks off Roundtable Tour
ILLINOIS STATE SENATE CANDIDATE JEREMY WALKER PLANS SERIES OF ROUNDTABLES TO LISTEN TO RESIDENTS’ CONCERNS
RED BUD — Illinois State Senate candidate Jeremy Walker kicked off his “Roundtable Discussion Tour” today. He plans to talk about the problems facing different sectors of the workforce and the economy.
At the roundtable, Walker visited with local Jackson County Ambulance Service (JCAS) employees and two members of the board of directors for the Illinois State Ambulance Association. The roundtable provided the first-time candidate with a more personal, first-hand understanding of issues facing EMS workers and ambulance providers in Southern Illinois.
“I’m hosting these roundtables because I want to understand the issues facing different types of workers all over the district,” Walker said. “The discussions should allow me to identify the problems getting in the way of doing business here in Illinois. I want Southern Illinois workers to realize I will fight for their concerns in Springfield if I am elected to the Senate”
Today’s event was the first of at least 6 roundtables planned for the future. Walker plans to sit down and meet with farmers, teachers, SIU students and police officers in the months leading up to the election.
“I want to thank the workers from Jackson County and the State Ambulance Association Directors for taking time to meet with me,” Walker added. “The input of local community members is a vital part of the legislative process, and I believe elected officials must work to build strong relationships with their employers and the residents in their districts.”
