Walker Wants to Expand Recall Amendment

ILLINOIS STATE SENATE CANDIDATE JEREMY WALKER SUPPORTS RECALLING CORRUPT LEGISLATORS AND ENACTING TERM LIMITS

RED BUD, IL – First-time candidate for the State Senate Jeremy Walker wants to change the culture of corruption in Springfield by allowing voters to recall any corrupt legislator or state official – not just a governor.

In three weeks, Illinois voters will have the opportunity support what is being dubbed the “Governor Recall Amendment” which would allow voters to recall a governor from office by petitioning for a special election. Walker, who is in support of the amendment, also says he supports expanding the recall to any corrupt legislator or statewide official.

“I will work to expand the recall amendment to include all corrupt legislators and statewide elected officials,” Walker said. “We must change the culture of corruption in Springfield. We owe it to the people of Illinois to be more accountable to them and restore their faith in state government.”

The first-time candidate’s determination for change also includes enacting term limits for all state lawmakers to ensure accountability.

“Legislators should never forget who they work for,” Walker added. “If elected, I will provide Southern Illinois with a fresh perspective and work to gain back citizens’ trust that has been lost by previous tainted administrations.”
